In order to fully prepare for the MCA's please make sure students are going to bed early and eating breakfast in the morning.

BELONG Assembly

The fifth and sixth graders hosted an assembly for the rest of Achieve Language Academy this past Thursday. The students did an excellent job presenting one of ALA's core values, belong. The students presented: a chant, a video describing what it means to belong, student art and poetry, and a song and dance.

The Past Couple of Weeks in 5/6 Language Arts and Social Studies...

The past few weeks have been very busy as the fifth graders went to Starbase while the sixth graders studied personal finance in social studies and tone and mood in language arts. The sixth graders studied describing and feeling words to describe various texts and media's tone and mood. At the end the sixth graders were able to write their own story with a specific tone. The sixth graders learned about the importance of goal-setting, saving, and choices in personal finance, social studies economics. At the end the sixth graders played The Game of LIFE to have a fun, yet relevant, well-earned, end of the week activity.

Upon the fifth graders returning back to the normal school day last Wednesday, the fifth and sixth graders finished reading the novel, Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. The students practiced their fluency and comprehension skills while reading this fictional novel.
